Size: 90 – 130cm,

Weight: 3.8 – 5kg.

Habitat:  Desert and Savanna areas.

Feeding Habit: Omnivores by eating most plants parts, flower petals, seed heads, insects and other Arthropods, reptiles, and Amphibians.

Nesting: Clutch consists of 4 – 8 fawn to buff white eggs which are incubated only by the female. The egg takes about 28 days to hatch. The chicks are nidifugous and follow

the mother around after hatching. Downy young may sometimes climb on their mother’s back and the female my carry them in flight to a safe tree branch.

 Lifespan: 23 years in captivity

Conservation Status: Least concern (LC).
